    The Central Market Revitalization Project is a conservation and revitalization project under the Urban Renewal Authority (referred to as the “URA”), and it is also under the new initiative of “Conserving Central” by the Government. The URA commenced restoration and preservation works for this 80-year-old grade three historic building with the application of innovative restoration methods, repair materials, and project management software, in order to enhance both the work quality and efficiency. Participants will take part in a guided tour to deeply experience the charm of the venue.

    "Green@Community" is a new recycling network brand in the community. It takes the word "green" as the concept and takes the homophonic number "6" as its symbol. Its design is also similar to the initial "G" of the English "GREEN" and common recycling symbols The shape is similar, which means that green life is everywhere, and the "green" is endless. Participate in the "Green in Jordan" event under HKIDW 2022 Open House Programme this time, you can know more about the public space design of the environmental protection industry, and experience the "low carbon" life.

  • People’s Place – Siu Hei Court Play Space

    Rooftop of Siu Hei Shopping Centre

    The refurbished sportsground is one of a kind within Tuen Mun, containing two basketball courts, two basketball half-courts, a gridded playscape, two 150-meter long jogging tracks, and a car tire zone. A racetrack on the sportsground also provides the opportunity for balance bike practice and competitions. Residents of all ages can explore their imaginations and discover new ways to adopt the space for various games and activities. The Open House Programme will be led by designer, and share this unique stadium from the perspectives of its aesthetics, functions and culture.

  • The Hong Kong Council of Social Service – Nam Cheung 220

    Nam Cheong 220; Nos. 202-220 Nam Cheong Street, Sham Shui Po

    "Nan Cheong 220" is the first transitional composite social housing in Hong Kong using the composite construction method, and has opened the prelude to the development of transitional housing. Since then, with the strong support of the government, blocks of combined social housing have been gradually completed and spread all over Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. "Nanchang 220", as a pilot project, has also found that social housing can enhance the mutual assistance capacity of neighbours, connect the community and assist in the redistribution of local resources. Participants can learn how interior designers can contribute to the housing shortage problem in Hong Kong through interior design.

    Club C+ has been built into a private and exclusive territory for a rare and distinguished leisure experience in the city. Mr. Steve Leung specially cooperated with the internationally renowned lighting design master Mr. Tino Kwan to select a series of very emotional lighting and lighting effect designs, using lighting changes to mobilize the atmosphere and express personalization. The interior space highlights the eclectic elegance of the clubhouse. This guided tour is supported by the venue provider, giving everyone a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit this venue jointly created by many masters.

    Oft Interiors, a Hong Kong design firm, made a new visual and spatial functional design for MCL Cyberport Cinema. OFT is good at combining business thinking and visual culture, and is committed to creating a "scene-based consumer experience" for commercial space. In this design, it not only brings a new pixel world to Generation Z consumers, but also solves the problem of insufficient drainage capacity of old theaters and shopping malls, and realizes two-way drainage of theaters and shopping malls. The tour will be led by the designer, and share to visitors that how design is integrated in our daily life.

  • Wontonmeen

    135 Lai Chi Kok Rd, Lai Chi Kok

    Wontonmeen, located between Sham Shui Po and Prince Edward, is a hostel and a cultural space. "This is actually the family's property. They are getting older, and they don't want to deal with this place in particular. I have been thinking about all kinds of possibilities." Patricia, the hostel manager who was a designer and a lecturer of Interior Design at university. Patricia and her husband who also likes to travel, broke the original "pure rental" form and created the property as a hostel together. The event will be led by the designer, who will introduce how to integrate local culture into the characteristic space design.

  • WAKO SAKE LABO • SUSHI

    WAKO SAKE LABO • SUSHI takes the concept of coffee and wine as one, and integrates laboratory elements into the restaurant, which are presented to everyone in the coffee shop and sushi area. The SUSHI area is also equipped with a full range of LED Walls and mirrored ceilings. The unique chef's setting environment and taste, out of the traditional Western-Japanese style, bring a new impact to the sight, taste, smell and shopping of Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong. The design company will introduce this unique restaurant design to the participants, allowing everyone to experience the space design that emphasizes both function and aesthetics.

  • LIFETASTIC Patisserie

    Kiosk C, Level LG2, Festival Walk, 80 Tai Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong

    The watermelon cakes in Hong Kong must be reminded of LIFETASTIC, a unique patisserie. Six branches of LIFETASTIC were designed by Max Lam Designs. The design projects have won the "Restaurant and Bar Design Awards" in UK and ”A&D trophy awards” in Hong Kong. The idea of Max Lam Designs comes from the distinct layering and elegant theme of the watermelon cake. HKIDW 2022 Open House Programme has invited the designer to share his experience and design concept of the patisserie to visitors.
