Moon Series

Craft of Both, in partnership with MADE, presents the ‘Moon Series’; a modular, sculptural seating language in a constant state of unfolding.
Inspired by the iconic, rhythmic geometry of the Chinese Paper Fan - and its dynamic ability to claim and carve three-dimensional space - the Moon Series is realized as two discrete, yet complementary forms; the ‘Moon Chair’ (60°) and the ‘Moon Bench’ (120°).
The precise radial geometry of the Moon Series’ fixed, rhythmic timber structure sets a stage – an evocative, inhabitable framework that invites us to engage in a theatrical yet meditative ‘fan dance’ via the addition of modular, customizable fan modules anywhere along its span.
This extensive flexibility offers constant and comprehensive redefinition of the form, footprint and silhouette of each piece (and the surrounding space) according to preference or need.
Via the combination of 2 or more Moon Chairs or Benches, an extended sculptural landscape unfolds, where a ‘choreography’ of fans controls, orientation, privacy, comfort and aesthetic.

Craft of Both is an award-winning architecture and interiors studio crafting uncompromisingly creative spatial concepts for a range of project types across Hong Kong, London and South America.
Christina Standaloft & Jay Jordan - Interior and Architectural Leads at Craft of Both Respectively - believe in a design approach centred around communication and collaboration.
“A Craft of ‘Both’ is one inspired by dialogues, materialised through relationships, and enriched by playful tensions between concepts and forms. It can be any scale, any scope.” - Craft of Both
Raised and practicing out of Hong Kong, but drawing from a diverse Colombian, Caribbean and British Heritage, Craft of Both’s work in the region represents a process of cross-cultural exploration and open-minded discovery; expressing and celebrating the confluences and contradictions between a diverse international background and Hong Kong’s rich, unique local heritage, craft and culture, in which Craft of Both is immersed and incubated.
Each new project seeks to synthesise these contrasts into a single, holistic and striking spatial vision that balances technical precision with soulful atmosphere, and challenges conventions of space and function.
Craft of Both’s process is highly versatile, deployed towards a broad, multifaceted portfolio of work encompassing Furniture, Artwork, Residential, Workplace, Product and Installation Design.
MADE
A bit of nostalgia, a bit of innovation and a lot of collaborations”.
Hong Kong based woodwork studio MADE believes craft is a living art. We think, we order, we prototype, and we make it happen. With what we’ve made, you can sit down, lean on, walk in, and uphold with a touch of handcrafted warmth. We aim to transform sustainable wood into sustainable living, reviving wisdom from the past, nature, and the local community, as we MADE with craft, by collaborations, from sustainable sources, out of joy, in Hong Kong.
We perceive design as a transformative force, reshaping daily lives and challenging the limitations of generative AI, which excels visually but falters in creating tangible, engaging objects. Anticipating a second wave akin to the Arts and Crafts Movement over the next three decades, our focus is on adaptability, reshaping roles, and fostering multisensory connections between people, the world, and nature.
